SERIES DESCRIPTION

The Warner Electric EM Series (Electro Module) power-on brake modules are individual electromagnetic units designed for modular assembly with standard C-face motors, reducers, or clutch modules. Operating on a power-on engagement principle, applying DC voltage energizes the coil and engages the friction surfaces for precise stopping and holding. They are easy to install, maintenance-free, and require no lifetime lubrication.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. Step 1: Match NEMA Frame Size—Select module size based on prime mover or reducer frame requirements (Size 100 fits 56C/48Y frames with components of EM-180 for higher torque).
2. Step 2: Determine Technical Requirements—Verify required static torque and calculate thermal heat dissipation based on load inertia and cycle rates.
3. Step 3: Choose Mounting & Voltage—Select corresponding coil voltage and configuration (standalone or combined with clutch).

HOW TO ORDER

• Specify Part & Model: Order using current part number 5370-169-206 (replaces original part number 5370-169-040) or model EM-100-20 (6 VDC).
• Select Power Supply / Control: Choose an appropriate Warner Electric DC control/power supply matching the 6 VDC coil requirements.
• Optional Accessories: Conduit box (5370-101-042), motor mount kit (5370-101-078), or cover kits can be added as needed.
