The Warner Electric EM Series (Electro Module) electrically released brakes utilize powerful ceramic permanent magnets to provide reliable holding torque when power is removed from the brake coil. Applying a small DC voltage to the coil nullifies the magnetic field and releases the brake, allowing for a springless design that does not limit cycle rates.
