SERIES DESCRIPTION

The Warner Electric EM Series (Electro Module) input clutch modules are individual electromagnetic units designed for modular assembly with standard C-face reducers, motor modules, or brake modules. Operating on an electromagnetic engagement principle, applying DC voltage energizes the coil and engages the friction surfaces for smooth power transmission and rapid cycle rates. They are easy to install, maintenance-free, and require no lifetime lubrication.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

1. Step 1: Match NEMA Frame Size—Select module size based on prime mover or reducer frame requirements (Size 180 fits 182C/143TC and 184C/145TC frames).
2. Step 2: Determine Technical Requirements—Verify required static torque and calculate thermal heat dissipation based on load inertia and cycle rates.
3. Step 3: Choose Mounting & Voltage—Select corresponding coil voltage and configuration (input clutch standalone or combined with brake).

HOW TO ORDER

• Specify Part & Model: Order using current part number 5370-270-229 (replaces original part number 5370-270-050) or model EM-180-30 (90 VDC).
• Select Power Supply / Control: Select Appropriate Power Supply/Control. See the Controls Section beginning on page CTL-1.
• Optional Accessories: Conduit box (5370-101-042), base mount kit (5370-101-002), motor mount kit (5370-101-079), or cover kits can be added as needed.
