PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Warner Electric ER-375 is the most compact model in the ER series of flange-mounted, electrically released brakes. It is specifically engineered for dynamic stopping operations where the brake must be engaged while the shaft is in motion. Utilizing powerful permanent magnets, the ER-375 provides a reliable fail-safe braking force that automatically engages when power is removed. Application of electrical power to the coil nullifies the magnetic attraction, allowing the brake to release.

FEATURES

  • Automatic Wear Compensation: Never needs adjustment, as it automatically compensates for wear.
  • Fail-Safe Design: Permanent magnets ensure the brake automatically engages when power is turned off.
  • High Heat Dissipation: The segmented armature design provides superior heat dissipation for long service life in high-cycle operations.
  • Pre-Burnished: Factory pre-burnished to assure rated torque immediately upon installation.
  • Outside Mount: This specific size is available in an outside mounted configuration only.

SELECTION & ORDERING

  1. Verify Dynamic Use: Confirm the application requires engagement at speeds of 100 RPM or greater.
  2. Analyze HP & Speed: Match your requirements using the Horsepower vs. Shaft Speed chart (ER-375 is typical for 1/12 to 1/2 HP depending on RPM).
  3. Bore Selection: Choose the appropriate bore size (.500″ or .625″). Note that the ER-375 does not require a separate bushing.
  4. Select Control: ER Series brakes require a control with a potentiometer to vary the brake channel output.

For applications with speeds below 100 RPM, please contact Warner Electric Application Support.
