PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Warner Electric ER-825 Heavy Duty is a high-torque, bulkhead flange-mounted brake engineered for high-performance dynamic stopping. Designed to be engaged while the shaft is in motion (ideally 100 RPM or greater), it uses powerful permanent magnets to provide 125 lb. ft. of fail-safe braking force. The Heavy Duty version is specifically built to handle more rigorous duty cycles and loads compared to the standard model.

FEATURES

  • Automatic Wear Compensation: Automatically adjusts to maintain proper air gap as friction surfaces wear.
  • Fail-Safe Security: Permanent magnets ensure instant brake engagement when electrical power is removed.
  • High Heat Dissipation: Segmented armature design facilitates rapid cooling for long life in high-cycle applications.
  • Factory Pre-Burnished: Magnet and armature pairs are factory burnished to ensure full rated torque from day one.
  • Bushing System: Utilizes the Browning #H-1 system for secure, tapered shaft mounting.

SELECTION & ORDERING

  1. Verify Dynamic Use: Confirm the system requires frequent cycling at speeds above 100 RPM.
  2. Analyze HP & Speed: Use the Horsepower vs. Shaft Speed chart to verify the ER-825 is correct for your power requirements (typical for 3-25 HP).
  3. Specify Duty & Drive: This configuration is for Heavy Duty (H.D.). Specify if Pin Drive or Spline Drive is required.
  4. Order Bushing: Order a Browning #H-1 bushing separately to match your specific shaft diameter.
  5. Select Control: Use of a CBC-500 or CBC-550 control is recommended for this model size.

For applications with speeds below 100 RPM, please contact Warner Electric Application Support.
