The EUM Series Electrically Released UniModule® is a high-performance brake solution designed to provide reliable holding and stopping torque when power is removed from the system. These units are factory preassembled, aligned, and pre-burnished, allowing for immediate "bolt it on, wire it up" installation. The rugged, totally enclosed cast housing protects internal components and contains wear particles, making it ideal for clean environments and applications like conveyors, process equipment, and lifting devices.

Brake Design Styles

• FBB – Brake Module
  Designed for brake-alone applications; mounts between a NEMA C-face motor and a gear box or reducer.
• MBFB – Motor Brake Module
  Mounts directly to the back of a double-shafted NEMA C-face motor.

EUM Brake - Selection

1. Select Configuration

   Choose based on mounting location:
   
   a. FBB: Between motor and reducer.
   b. MBFB: On back of double-shafted motor.

2. Determine Technical Requirements

   Verify your motor's NEMA frame size (e.g., 56C, 143TC). Check torque and heat dissipation requirements.

   Important: Verify that the motor shaft diameter and mounting bolt circle
   dimensions are the same for the brake selected and the motor.

3. External Control Required

   For FBB and MBFB brake modules, the CBC-160, CBC-300, or
   CBC-500/550 is recommended.

   The FBC units require either a CBC-300 or a CBC500/550 control.
